cost
Following an initial consultation, we provide the client with a project proposal that includes an estimate of fees. Complexity, level of detail, usage (copyright) requirements, and artistic medium factor into determining the project fees.
copyright and usage
Usage rights to a project are negotiable and are a factor in determining the project fees; the specific usage rights transferred to the client will be detailed in a written license. Usage rights are not transferred until final payment is received. Whitford Medical Art retains the copyright to all of our creative work.
payment
Upon acceptance of a project proposal, a 50% payment is due before we begin work. The remaining fees are due upon delivery of the final product. Usage rights are not transferred until final payment is received.
workflow
consultation: initial consultation and written project proposal are complimentary.
proofs: after approval of the project proposal, preliminary proofs (sketches or storyboards) will be provided for client approval before we begin work on the final product.
revisions: revisions necessary due to an error or omission will be corrected without an additional fee. Proofs may be revised once (within the scope and description of the project proposal) without incurring an additional fee. All other revisions are billed at our studio rate of $125 per hour.
final product: after receiving the final product, the client has a two week period to review it for errors or omissions, after which the work is considered approved. Usage rights are not transferred until final payment is received.
cancellation
If a project is cancelled before completion, the client will be billed for all work completed at that time. Cancellation of a project makes void any license agreement; all rights to uncompleted work remain with us.
